Lynette was an Orthodox Christian missionary from the United States who served our Lord in Albania for eight years with her husband Nathan, and their two children, Tristan and Katherine.  On December 15, 2004, Lynette was diagnosed with a very serious form of breast cancer.  She was advised by her physician here in Albania to evacuate immediately to the United States for a difficult course of treatment which included surgery, radiation and a complete change of diet and nutrition.  After a 20 month struggle, she succumbed to the disease on August 27th, 2006.

The original purpose of this web site was to ask for your prayers for Lynette and her family as she endured her cancer treatment, for her recovery, and for her ultimate return Albania to continue her work as an Orthodox Christian missionary.  Although our Lord called her home, these prayers were a great comfort to Lynette and her family and we all know that our Father in heaven heard our voices for his daughter in Christ, Lynette.  The Hoppe family experienced many moments during this ordeal where they felt many of our prayers had been answered.

The second purpose of this web site was to provide a forum to facilitate communications between the Hoppe family and the people who cared about Lynette all around the world.  For the Hoppes, this web site allowed them to keep many people abreast of Lynette's condition during her illness.  In addition, it gave Lynette a chance to share her experiences and lessons learned during her journey.

The web site has now been reorganized to make it easier to access all of Lynette's written material, in chronological order.  You will find sections for prayers, updates, newletters from the Lynette, and a section to explain how you can help in addition to your prayers.  We are also developing pages to further describe the Hoppes' ongoing mission and work here in Albania. Finally, we will continure to add Nathan's wonderful photographs through the photo galleries. 

We have also provided the map of Albania that you see on the left.  People have asked us to give more information about the location of Nathan and Lynette's mission.  As you can see from the map, Albanian is located just east of the southern boot heel of Italy, across the Adriatic Sea.  Although they have worked all over this region, Tirana, the capital city of Albania, is where they have made their home.
