Dear Lynette, Nathan, Tristan and Katherine: Your story came to me by way of the "Typikon" e-mail group.  Know that from this point forward you will all be commemorated at our Proskomedia, and in our daily prayers.  We have further posted a prayer request for priests throughout our diocese to do the same.

"O Lord, Jesus Christ, who Yourself prayed before Your Holy Passion on the Cross with the words: "…that all who believe in Me may be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in us…", in Your loving-kindness now give aid to Your handmaid Lynette and to her family. Give us all the gift of repentance, humility and wholeness, and deem us worthy of glorifying you in a life of prayer all the days of our lives, that we too may, when the dawn of Your unending Day comes, be one in You."

       Lynette, My name is Christine and I am an Orthodox Christian born in Romania and living in Orange County, California.
       In 1995 I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer (metastasized to liver, bone and starting to attack my lung).  Like you I had no idea, other that a lump in my breast that kept disappearing.  By the fact that I am writing to you now, you know that God decided I had a few more things to learn on this earth.
       Keep praying and hoping…you are not alone,

      Here is a prayer translated from Romanian (I do not know the source but I have it in Romanian).  God Bless, Christine:

The Prayer of An Ill Person

Oh, Lord Who live in me, awaken me to Thy life,
         make it cry out its joy within me
               descending to the ailing places.
Lord, I was fashioned in Thy likeness,
      show me the Way to Thee and drive away
                     all that deceives my spirit.
Lord, Who art the Fountain of Life
     cause an outpouring of Thy living Water
                 to spring over my barren self.
Oh, God, the Holy Spirit, with Thy fire set ablaze
      my inmost depths and light in me the flame of Truth,
           bringing a stop to my cells' reckless racing.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for Lynette, thank you for bringing her into the life of my friend,  thank you for bringing a perfect match for him.  Thank you for the witness of your Presence in their lives. Thank you for the work of your Spirit in their ministry.    I know you rejoice in Her.  Thank you that you are a God who suffers and a God who heals.  Jesus we ask you to stretch our your hand to heal. Please restore her physically,  restore the part of her body the cancer has destroyed.   Please nourish her spirit.  Show your self to Her. Be her strong deliverer.  In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen
